Description of the Bird

All dark-red medium-sized bird with grayish yellow bill and black wings and tail. Eye dark. Feeding at top 1/3 of peach leaf willows. 

Similar Species Discussion

No other U.S. species looks like this althought White-winged Tanager from South America looks like it but with white wingbars.

It nested in our back yard where i grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio, area and it was one I learned early on.
