Description of the Bird
Bill: conical and mostly gray Crown: was brown with a small yellow/gold patch on the fore
Face: grayish
Back, wings and tail (seen only briefly when the bird turned to fly): brown and streaked
Underparts: grayish-brown
The bird was about 6-7 inches long, about the same size as the White-crowned Sparrows with which it was seen.
Behaviors: The bird was sitting with several White-crowned Sparrows in the middle of a juniper shelter belt and was aggitated by my presence.
Call: Call: a sharp loud “tink”
Plumage: 1st Winter?
