Viewing Conditions

Optics:  Stokes DLS Vortex 8x42
Distance:  Originally about 150 feet, then moved to about 75 feet
Light:  Somewhat hazy but the sun was behind me as Iobserved the birds so I had fairly good light.

Description of the Bird

I saw the birds across the parking lot at some distance and noticed the distinctly white belly on the male bluebird. I then walked toward the birds and had a good look at the male with the blue crown, orange throat, and white belly. I didn't pay as much attention to the drab female but did notice the lighter blue back, orange sides, and white on neck and belly.
Behaviors: The birds were feeding in a Russian Olive tree before flying away.
Call: N/A
Plumage: adult male and drab female

Similar Species Discussion

Seeing the white belly immediately alerted me that the Birds were Eastern Bluebirds and not Western. Was able to walk toward the birds and confirm my suspicions.
