Description of the Bird

No calls.  Warbler with yellow crown lined by black, with black coming down from eye area towards throat. Black and white back and wings, chestnut sides, white below. Methodically working through the trees at top and mid level.  Continually moving but not so fast that you couldn't get good looks at it. Found by Kat Dunlavey.

Similar Species Discussion

THe breeding male plumage ruled out other warblers.

Have seen this warbler previously in Central America, but confirmed with Merlin App.

Previous Experience

Saw this species repeatedly in Central America.  Have also seen the Bay Breasted warbler in Texas.
