Description of the Bird

Large long-legged shorebird with mottled buffy brown plumage and a long recurved bicolored bill (pink on basal half, blackish on terminal half).
Behaviors: Feeding by poking long bill into mud while wading in shallow water
Call: None
Plumage: Adult

Similar Species Discussion

The bill identifies the bird as a godwit; no other godwit would be buffy brown in June.
