Description of the Bird
This bird was sparrow-sized about 6-7 inches in length. It was perched on a barbed wire fence and was sallying out to catch insects. Then it would return to the same perch. The bird was entirely black except for a starkly contrasting white belly and undertail. It had a black head, breast, neck, back, tail and feet. Eye and bill were black. I watched the bird and took photographs for about 15 minutes.
Similar Species Discussion
Say's Phoebe....lighter brown color and yellowish belly. Eastern phoebe is browner as well. My bird was black, with white belly.
