Description of the Bird
Stepped out of car close to (flowing) stream and bird flew up from scrub into nearby bush where it perched, slightly obscured for 15mins, before dropping out of sight, to reappear after 5mins.Scope views to 70X and documentary photos and video obtained. Immediately recognised as a Yellow-breated Chat by previous experience with the species, the diagnostic dark lores, pale whitish supercilium and eyering, olive upperparts and bright yellow throat and breast, white undertail coverts were all clearly seen for prolonged periods. The short white sub-moustachial, and the brightness of the olive upperparts could indicate an eastern bird.
