Description of the Bird
A plump vireo, similar in size, structure and markings to any of the solitary vireos, with white wing bars and obvious spectacles. Bright yellow throat and breast, with sharp delineation to white belly and undertail coverts. Head and back were greenish yellow, wings were dark with white wing bars. Spectacles were bright yellow like throat, contrasting with greenish yellow of head and face.
Behaviors: Foraged mid level in Cottonwoods, moving somewhat slower than warblers (vireo like)
Call: none
Plumage: non juvenile
Similar Species Discussion
All solitary vireos ... bright yellow throat and spectacles rule out these closely related vireos
Pine Warbler ... No faint streaking on yellow breast, solitary like spectacles, blunt bill and slower foraging rule out Pine Warbler
